The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the statement issued by the European Union foreign ministers meeting that was held in Brussels yesterday. The ministry considers the meeting as a solid European position that reaffirms the European consensus on the conflict and confirms that the EU countries are committed to the two-state solution with Jerusalem as the capital. The Declaration also notes the importance of working to revive the peace process without mentioning the American role, considering a collective and international sponsorship for the peace process and ending the American monopoly over it. The Ministry also welcomes the European declaration of a clear call for lifting the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip and for providing assistance to its citizens that are suffering as a result of the Israeli blockade.
